Welcome to DUCC, where adventure is our aim. Whether you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, an action-packed team sport, or a chill day out on the water – we have it all. The club caters to a wide range of paddling interests and abilities including white-water kayaking, canoe polo, and flatwater kayaking and paddle boarding.

The club trains on a Monday (20:00 – 21:30) and Thursday (19:30 – 21:30) evenings at the ISE pool. Our pool sessions are where you will learn all your basic skills and hone your technique, you will be aided by our experienced coaches and friendly members. Thanks to our central location, there’s a full range of white-water rivers nearby and with our group of experienced paddlers everyone can find something to suit them. If you’re not keen on white-water, we also run regular flatwater trips to nearby beaches and Scotland’s beautiful lochs. We also train in canoe polo, a team sport, and compete throughout the year against other clubs. We have great social links with other universities, so you may find yourself in Aberdeen for a ceilidh or in Glasgow for the annual freestyle competition. As a club, we provide matriculated members with all the kit needed for paddling which, alongside all coaching, is paid for by your one-off matriculation fee.

Aside from the paddling, DUCC loves a good social. After our pool sessions, we head down to our sponsor pub ‘The Nether Inn’ for a chat and some drinks. We also organise a series of events throughout the year such as Welcome Night, Christmas Dinner, Potlucks, and much more to look forward to!

We are always excited to welcome new members so feel free to get in touch through our social media or the club email.
