Sailing (Sports Union)

Dundee University Sailing Club (DUSC) offers lots of sailing opportunities for all skill levels, whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who enjoys racing DUSC has something for you! We regularly run RYA level 2, Powerboat Level 2 courses, Safety boat courses and introduction to racing courses throughout the year in addition to our weekly sailing sessions.

DUSC runs open sailing sessions at Royal Tay yacht club every Wednesday using the club's 4 training boats, followed by some well deserved free food and chat at our sponsor bar.

Our dinghy teams sail at Monikie Country Park in the club's 6 Firefly dinghies bought from Ovington in November 2023. The teams attend 3 SSS events each year along with more optional events on top of these across the UK.

We provide yacht sailing and racing from Port Edgar weekly along with 2 annual yacht trips in both the West coast of Scotland and Greece.

It is common knowledge that DUSC social just as much as they sail. Special events such as commodore’s dinner, pirates night and Christmas dinner are held throughout the year, bringing the oldies and newbies together. Alongside these social events, DUSC also provides chilled nights, making sure we are not tackling the tiredness on our own. DUSC is a fun and friendly club, and we make sure that everyone feels welcome and most importantly has a great time!
