Serving on the Sports Union is a very rewarding experience. You’ll be helping to sustain our lively club culture to transform lives through sport, exercise and physical activity. As well as having a positive impact on sport, you will gain valuable experience and skills over the year.

How to nominate:

Pop into the SU office to pick up a nomination form or download a copy of the form.

Nominations close on Monday 27 February at 12:00. You must hand in your nomination form to the SU office before the closing time.

Campus Sport Officer

The role breakdown:

Along with the Sports Union President, take responsibility for the organisation and delivery of Campus Sport activities in both semesters.

Liaise with ISE regarding facilities, organise food sponsors, and collate prizes.

Promote Campus Sport events and encourage Sports Union clubs to get involved.

Finance Officer

The role breakdown:

Along with the Sports Union President, take responsibility for sponsorship of the Sports Union.

Along with the VP Sport, look into options for sponsorship for Varsity.

Along with the VP Events, look into current options for the Blues & Colours Ball.

Work with the sports clubs with the aim to gain and attract sponsorship.

Transport Officer

The role breakdown:

Check the Sports Union vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy.

Completion of a monthly transport record, in line with University protocol.

To archive forms and check and replenish bus folders.

To drive the buses to and from the garage if required, at the discretion of the President.

*Eligible candidates must be 21 years, have at least 3 years of driving experience and hold a clean driving license.

Honorary Secretary

The role breakdown:

Responsible for all Sports Union records and communications.

Sit on the Blues & Colours Committee and the finance committee in the voting capacity and record accurate minutes.

Attend Sports Union executive meetings and Sports Union council meetings and record accurate minutes.

Communications & Promotions Officer

The role breakdown:

Work alongside the Marketing & Communications Officer in ISE.

Update the Sports Union website with relevant information throughout the year.

Actively promote the Sports Union on social media: Instagram and Facebook.

Create promotional material to promote both Sports Union events and the University of Dundee sports brand.

Liaise with Sports Clubs to highlight any news.

VP Sport

The role breakdown:

Organisation and delivery of the Charity Relay that encourages participation across all sports and promotes community engagement by donating funds to a local charity.

Sit on the Blues & Colours committee and finance committee in a voting capacity.

Organisation and delivery of the annual Varsity Games against Abertay University.

Exercise the powers and fulfil the duties of the President in their absence.

Help executive members with their duties, along with being next in line should the President require help or assistance.
